Last modified: Saturday January 12, 2008 09:03:23 AM Alberta Time The below were posted before our reunion July 2006. Many have responded! You can still alter or add a bio here - just send an email - Fellow grads LOVE to see photos, email direct and we will post - but no cheating and sending photos from 5 years ago :-) Kev.
Aplin, Val - (Now Smith) Brandon - It is amazing to read what everyone has been doing over the last 25 years! After graduating from V.M., I attended ACC for one year taking Commercial Art. I have been married to my husband, Brad for 22 years and we have 2 children, Jessica 14 and Michael 12. We have also had numerous dogs and cats over the years, right now just 1 of each! I worked for the provincial government for 12 years (1982 - 1994) as secretary or payroll clerk in different departments. In 1991 I purchased a costume rental business and ran it out of my home while I was a stay at home mom. I designed and sewed costumes until I had over 1000 costumes and finally made the decision to sell the business in 1999 and go back to work for someone else (who paid better than I did!!!) I have been working for the Brandon School Division as a school secretary since 2000 at O'Kelly School in Shilo. This fall I will be at Green Acres School in Brandon - a little closer to home! (especially with gas prices). My daughter starts at Vincent Massey this fall for gr. 9 and my son will be going over to Riverheights for gr. 7 after being at Valleyview since Kgn. I live 2 blocks from where I grew up so I haven't moved too far out of my comfort zone!! When I'm not busy running them around to football, volleyball or golf (yes, they are way more athletic than I ever was!!)I spend my time reading, gardening or creating things with my computerized embroidery machine. I'd like to say thank you to Kevin, Brian (how come I never run into you anymore around Brandon?!), Michelle and Mark for the huge amount of work you have put into this reunion. The website is wonderful, I have really enjoyed looking through it as I am sure everyone else has too!
Craig, John, Pitt Meadows BC. I had much hoped to travel to Brandon for the reunion but I’m afraid a combination of deadlines and commitments, mostly at work, and some with family, have made it impossible to come in late July. I still hope to make a visit at some future point but alas, I won’t be able to meet up with old friends and acquaintances on this occasion. I would be very happy to hear from any Massey grads who want to get in touch - do send me an email (johnc@sfu.ca) and let me know should you be in the Vancouver area. My work number is 604 291 4450 and home number is 604 465 4251. I think all the work on the website has been tremendous as has all of the organization with the reunion. Like some others in our year, my Brandon years have turned out to be something of a passing moment. My parents moved to Brandon in 1972 and then twenty-five years later or so, moved to Ontario. My older brother worked for a number of years in Winnipeg only to take a position in Edmonton about eight years ago and a younger sister left Brandon a few years ago for Prince George. Other siblings live in New Brunswick, Ontario and England. So we’re scattered and there’s no longer a family connection to Brandon. I have vivid memories of my three years at Fleming school with fellow students Mark Shanks, Karen Skinner, Janice Hutsal (who taught me how to do the triple jump), Debbie Derksen, Norm Collier, Brian Woodcock plus others who came to Fleming on the bus. There was an infamous moment of madness involving Brad McGregor and an unpopular girl called Shelley in Mr Dutkewich’s class in grade 6. I wonder if Mark Shanks remembers? We lived beside the Hutsals on McDiarmaid Drive, a good location for Massey, but come grade 7, my parents decided to put us into a small Christian school for grades 7-9 and when I came to Massey, although I knew some students - perhaps Norm Collier best, it was a new set of students to get to know. I enjoyed my Massey years, had some great teachers and again have some very specific memories, shaped by the classes I was in. When I talk with high school students in their first year at Simon Fraser, it reinforces my strong sense of the high academic standards achieved at Massey. I remember when Tom Korski and others organized a campaign for Sad Sack ( a bag of fertilizer) to run against David Pepper in his bid to gain a second term as president of the student council. The principal, Gordon Henderson, got upset when students in the Typing class started sending typed offensive letters to David for refusing to debate with Sad Sack. I also remember reading lengthy chunks of the Pickwick Papers with Brad MacDonald at some assembly that ended with being booed off the stage. I left Brandon for Carleton University in late August 1981 (it was only much later that I learnt that Carleton is known as Last Chance University in Ontario) and kept in touch a little with David Pepper, Bonnie Fox and Karen Skinner who were in, or around, Ottawa at the time. When I married Hilde Van Nes, an Ottawa girl, in 1984, David, Bonnie and Tom came to the wedding. But five kids later - three boys and two girls - the oldest two at university this September, and being a poor correspondent at the best of times, and the connections with Brandon have lessened. After all our moves to England and back, I’ve lost my year book (where can I get one from?) I think I was last in the Wheat City in 1995 or 1996, which is too long an absence. But life moves on. Do pass on my best wishes to all who come to the reunion. It would be a pleasure to hear from any of you. Zorn, Denise, Brandon - I was married for fifteen years and stayed at home to raise my 2 girls Marie (23) Crystal(22). I have been with Terry for nine years with three stepsons Christoper(21) Tyler (19) and Dustin (17). I have never left Brandon, working at Wal-mart and just finished with Lewiscraft after 12 years. Terry and I keep very busy with his brothers band as they play a lot of out of town gigs. Terry does the sound for them and I with whatever needs to be done, mostly making sure everyone behaves (ha ha). I am currently busy getting ready for our first grandchild (my youngest daughter) due Sept 1st. I will not be making it to the reunion. Berry, Shawn. Montreal. Hi everyone... It's been fun to read your biographies and to find out where you ended up after graduating from Massey. (Thanks to Kevin, Michelle, Mark, Brian and any others who have been involved for your efforts in organizing the reunion. Thanks especially to Kevin for your work on the Web site; it's been an interesting trip into the past...) I currently live in Montreal with my wife, Sondra, and our son, Josh. I teach sociology at a junior college and also teach part-time at one of Montreal's universities. After graduating from high school, I spent time in Brandon, Winnipeg, London, ON, and St.Catharines, where I was a reporter for the local newspaper. (Great job, but the long hours eventually led me to reconsider my career choice.) Moving to Montreal turned out to be a great decision. While waiting for the train to Montreal, I met my wife and we've had many happy times and adventures since. (One of the happiest times was the birth of our son in 2000.) When I'm not at work or spending time with my family, I can often be found on the tennis court or playing badminton. (Badminton is very popular in Quebec and it's a great stress buster!) The reunion sounds like it will be a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to being there. Thanks again to the organizers for all of your hard work and thanks to everyone who posted messages on this site. I've enjoyed reading them and I wish you all the best in your future travels and adventures! Voy, Holly (Now Dickson) -Red Deer. Well, after visiting this site numerous times to see where everyone is and what you are up to I figured it was time to update myself. After graduation I attended B.U. for one year with many familiar faces from V.M.H.S. I then entered the B.G.H. School of Nursing and graduated from there in 1984. I began working casual at B.G.H. and took a position a few months later in the Nursery/I.C.N. In 1988 Scott and I were married and moved to Calgary with his job in 1989 after he received his C.A. designation. Moving to a big city opened lots of doors for me. I soon found myself working at Foothills Hospital in the Neonatal I.C.U. Each day was an eye opening new experience! Shortly after starting in the Unit, I began taking courses in Neonatal Studies. In 1991 son #1, Ian was born. His arrival made my attendance at the last reunion a non- issue. In 1992 I received my certification in Neonatal Transport and my dream job of a half time position. As luck would have it, Scott’s company transferred him to Red Deer, AB within a week of me starting in my new job. On the bright side, we haven’t changed cities again and love living here. Because I loved my job and the health care system in AB was such a mess in ‘92 I commuted to Calgary on a part time basis for four years. Unfortunately because of the travel I never was able to actually hands On use my transport training. In 1994 our second son Jaryd arrived and the speed of life accelerated! I continued to work casual in the Red Deer Nursery until 1999 when I "retired " from my fun job. My new occupation was the full time C.E.O. of the Dickson household. Despite a few changes in my job description and duties over the years, I thoroughly enjoy this chance to be with my kids everyday. Yes, I’m still learning new eye opening things everyday, although some things I don’t want to know!!! The fall of 2002 brought some changes to our happy little life. The ensuing twelve months were a journey that led to the decision in Sept’03 that our lives were not going to be spent living under one roof. It was and occasionally still is a rollercoaster ride, but each of us made our way through bent but not broken. Amazingly, the sun continued to rise each day and still does!!! At some point in time I’ll probably do my nursing refresher and return to the work for pay ranks. However, each time one of the kids picks up a new activity or continues with an old one, I pad my resume with new experiences too. A big thank you to the crew who have worked so hard at pulling this reunion together, it’s going to be a lot of fun! Janice Hutsal (now Young) LaSalle Mb. Did I graduate with this many people? What a diverse and interesting group! After Vincent Massey I graduated from U of M with a degree in Human Ecology, worked 5 years for some marketing boards, then returned to U of M to get an MBA majoring in marketing (1990-1992). I did some consulting for McKenzie Seeds and taught a couple of courses in Management at U of M. Along the way I got married to a wonderful guy from Winnipeg/Clear Lake (Brent Young) and we now have 2 terrific boys (Brandon 12, Steven 10). Brent is now a family Doctor practicing in Winnipeg, and I happily stay at home (volunteer at school, golf, attempt the odd triathlon, teach Sunday School, play hockey and run/jog as much as time and energy permit. Hope to be able to make it out for one of the nights - really nice to hear about everyone anyway!
McLachlan, Ross, Whitehorse. Well, I’m not too surprised that I don’t remember every name and face from 25 years ago but I am a little concerned that I can still hum the melody of over half those songs listed in the 1981 hits! After High school I drove a gravel truck and did a few other things but seeing how much fun my friends were having in Brandon University, I enrolled there and ended up with a Geography degree and perfected my drinking skills. Snuck a bit travel in after that and then went to U of Alberta and got my MSc in the area of Geographical Information Systems (GIS – a kind of mapping technology). Returned briefly to Brandon to work at BU for the Geography Department and teach cartography. This was fun as I finally got to go into the staff coffee lounge (it doesn’t seem so big when you are in there). From there I moved to Whitehorse (what do you call people from Whitehorse?) and I worked in regional land use planning, cartography and GIS with the federal government. I then moved into information technology project management and managing technology support for a federal agency in Whitehorse and now I work for the Territorial government and oversee the financial, technology and other support functions for a government department. I also teach at Yukon College on occasion. Work has been rewarding for me. Of course more importantly than all that is I got married (much nicer person than I am), had a couple of kids (my wife kept having these babies!), and acquired other trappings of family life like a dog (much nicer person than I am) and a mini-van. We all enjoy and appreciate the Yukon. Reading the other responses has been fun and it appears I have more hair than John Legatt, fewer muscles than Dan Rogers and the same favourite snack as Tom Korski.
Georgison, Kjirsten - - I'm living in Toronto, where I've been since 1988. I am an associate creative director at an advertising agency downtown, and my husband works in the film industry. No kids, just a couple of low-maintenance cats! (Foto Right - Kjirsten)
Wood, Brian (was Woodcock in high school) Very likely will be there. Live in Winnipeg. Under "Tell us about yourself" said "hair turning grey" Smith, Kathy (now Gould) Graduated from BU in 84 then got a Masters in Library Science from University of Southern California, where I met my husband Don. Lived in LA and worked as a librarian for a couple of years and then moved to New Zealand, and then Australia where we were for 9 yrs and I worked in various management positions in mining and manufacturing. Came back to the States in 98 and lived in Kentucky for 5 years before I burned out on corporate life. Moved back to California in 2003 and I now work as Director of a small library system. No kids (by choice), 2 dogs. I won't be able to make the reunion after all - my parents just advised that they will be making their annual trek to California to visit us that week. Sorry to miss it, but if anyone wants to get in touch I'd love to hear from them by email - dkgould@adelphia.net - And of course if anyone comes to Southern California at any point they should look me up. We're 3 blocks from the beach and 20 minutes from LAX.
Baptie, Tom, Somewhere
in Bangkok. Brian, very nice to hear from you. The
thought of a reunion is extremely intriguing. As you can imagine, to come
from (literally) half way around the world would be quite the trip.
However, it is possible we may be coming back to N.America at some point
this year anyway. So I will not say NO, but it is highly unlikely.
We've been in Bangkok, Thailand for about 5 months now. Enjoying it
immensely. The weather is good (but will be VERY hot in the summer), and
the living is pretty easy. The food is TOO good, my waist line is taking a
beating. I'm here with my wife, Kathy. Our two sons are back in
Alberta, one going to the University of Calgary, the other is working near
Edmonton. Both have been over for a visit. It's amazing how old you feel
when you are wondering when your son will come home from a night out in
Bangkok, and is not yet home at 5am. Oh well, I guess that's payback !!
It's been quite an adventure, since leaving Brandon I have lived in
Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto, back to Calgary, Atlanta, San
Jose, Raleigh, and now Bangkok. Who knows where I'll be in another couple
of years. Still quite a bit of fun to see the world. Bill is in the
Toronto area, married with two young daughters. I guess he has been there
now for about 15 years. Please stay in touch, great website. If I can
find a reasonable way to attend, I'd be thrilled to do so.

Left, Diane and kids.
Woodman, Sharon, - St. François-Xavier - de - Viger- Hello fellow friends of Vincent Massey! What a trip this has been down memory lane. What fun it’s been to hear such news and see good friends and their loved ones. Thanks to all who have made this possible! I live in Québec where we own 100 acres of Appalachian hilltop in the Bas St. Laurent region. I farm and teach ESL in the local area high schools and am pre-occupied, at this life’s moment, with providing adequate clothing, food, education and entertainment for our 5 kids (20, 12, 8, 6 and 4) and livestock. What a life! I won’t be making it back to Brandon this summer so, that cuts out the reunion but I sure do appreciate having these memories revived. I will have to enjoy, instead, what you post as the after-event. Have a most wonderful time!!! McGregor,
Jeff and Sumathi Grandhi (now McGregor) – Kelowna,
BC. A lot has happened in the past 25 years, and for the most part we have
been very fortunate. We will celebrate our 20th anniversary this
August. We have three wonderful children, Michael (13), Sarah (9), and John
(8). For some reason Jeff has a lot of grey hair. We have had the
opportunity to experience life and work in several wonderful places,
including Winnipeg, Kingston, Ottawa, and also the beautiful island of Maui,
where we lived for three and a half years. We moved to Kelowna in July 2005
and have been enjoying skiing/snowboarding and other outdoor activities BC
has to offer. Our latest excitement has been the addition of a border
collie puppy to the mix … in case it started to get too quiet. Thank you to
all who are making the tremendous effort it takes to organize this reunion.
It’s been great to read the notes from our former classmates. We are still
working out our plans for the summer, so we may be able to see you in July!
Feel free to drop us a note at
jefmcg@telus.net or
sumathimcgregor@yahoo.ca, we’d love to hear from you.Walker, Sherry, Mesquite Texas. Hi y'all....yes, I'm alive and breathing. My children (Patrick 19, Keegan 16, & 4 year old Alexis) and myself live in Mesquite, Texas - about 20 minutes outside of Dallas. For the past year I've been working for Dallas County Sheriff's Dept. detention division - never a dull moment! Unfortunately I can't join you for the reunion, but please know that many of you have left a lasting impression. McCabe, Calla (Now McDougall) - Brandon - I am married, 25 years in October. We have 2 kids: Son Landon 24 and Daughter Aerlan 21. My husband Joe and I own a dental laboratory in Brandon. Unfortunately we have a prior family commitment out of town this weekend. Hope everyone has a wonderful time!
Doig, Lynn - Chile - Lynn´s life after Massey.... After
graduation I really had no idea what I wanted to do. My cousin suggestion
Geology and took me down to BU to register. I studied for a couple of
years, met my husband, Neil Barr (Brandonite) and we moved up to Thompson in
1984. There, I completed the Early Childhood Education program and worked
in an integrated pre-school. In 1986, Neil was offered a job in Vancouver.
There, I studied nursing and worked as an RN in the local hospital.
Somewhere along the line I had 3 children, now aged 15, 13 and 11. In 1995
we packed up and moved to La Serena, Chile. Neil was working in a nearby
copper mine and I was busy adjusting to a new culture, raising kids and
learning Spanish. In 2001, we moved to Iquique, a northern Chilean city
located in the Atacama desert. I have been teaching English for the past 4
years....and....I have a question. "Does anyone remember being taught
grammar in high school??" I hope I can make it to the reunion. The website
is great...and Kevin, I will try to get the family together for a photo!
Woodman, Lori. (Now Stuart) St. Andrews MB. I went to school with some of you in Valleyview & went to Massey for Gr. 7-9, then moved to Portage la Prairie for Gr. 10-12. I have been an R.N. since 1983 (!!!), working in ER for 10yrs., ICU for 5 & presently in Recovery Room at 7 Oaks Hosp. in WPG. I was married in 1991 to Ken Stuart & we have 3 girls - Shayla 13yrs. & identical twins Kendra & Reaghen 12yrs. (we were a little busy there for a while!!!) I've been thinking about coming to the reunion but not sure after all these years how many people will remember me or vise versa, esp. since I didn't go to high school with you all. However, I'm positive it will be a GREAT time for all who do attend... McPhail, Darlene (Now McPherson) I have really enjoyed reading the responses for fellow grads. So many of you have really made a success story out of your lives and I congratulate you. I have remained in Brandon since High School. Tried University, then tried Red River Community College and finally graduated from ACC with Business Administration. I worked at the Royal Bank until I was married to George McPherson in April of 1987. We farm south of Brandon on the original farmstead George’s great grandparents settled in 1879. We run a mixed operation of grain and purebred Simmental cattle. We have two kids – Mitchell is 17 and Nicola is 14. Both are actively involved with the farm - Mitchell is interested more in the grain and Nicola is our “cowgirl”. I remain busy (not for pay!!!) at home with farming responsibilities and managing the schedules of everyone else. I am still curling during the winters and summers are spent mowing grass, camping and Nicola has a horse she shows a local fairs. All in all life has been good, a few bumps in the road (like BSE and poor grain prices) but we remain healthy and have good friends. Hoping the reunion is a great success and look forward to visiting with many of you! darlenemcpherson@hotmail.com
Collier, Norm - Portage LaPrairie - I'm really quite surprised to realize that it's been 25 years since graduation at Vincent Massey. I've enjoyed reading about the reunion, but I'm afraid I won't be able to attend. I am now living in Portage la Prairie, after spending time in Carberry, Saskatoon, Hamilton, and Brazil. I'm an Anglican priest and an Archdeacon in the Diocese of Rupert's Land, but I also spent some time teaching English at Brandon University. My wife, Laurie, and I have 3 kids: Gabriel (10), Sophie (7), and Lily (3). Enjoy the reunion! Pepper, David -Ottawa - Dear Kevin and all, Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the reunion as the dates conflict with a longstanding commitment I have in Montreal. Believe it or not -- I will be participating in my 3rd triathlon (sprint). It is a follow up to my first one in Sydney Australia in 2002 at the Gay Games. Family: My partner Michael and I just celebrated our 20th anniversary in January (no, we are not married. Been together too long for THAT!). Home: This year also marks my 25th anniversary in Ottawa (except for a 1 year sabbatical I took when I traveled around the world in 2002-03). That was the best professional decision I have ever made. WORK: I have been the Director of Community Development and Corporate Communications at the Ottawa Police Service for over 11 years now. It is interesting and exciting work -- and always a challenge for a host of reasons. If you are interested in a fascinating career -- we are recruiting! Tell your friends and family. Would love to hear from folks -- still keep in touch with some from VMHS, and always enjoy my annual Christmas card from Darlene McPhail (McPherson) updating me.....thanks Darlene! Thanks for the initiative Kevin. Good luck with the reunion -- and hopefully all are hearty and healthy and enjoying all that life has to give us. David Pepper Brugger, Brenda (now McKitrick) Tulsa Oklahoma USA. Thank you for the invitation and I appreciate the work involved to plan such an event. I was one of the quiet students, so most people will probably have to check the yearbook to remember me. After school I left for Dallas and graduated from a Christian college. Returned home and met my husband, Tim, married in 1986. We have one daughter Victoria now seventeen, planning to leave the nest for university this August. We now live in Tulsa, Ok. I am a registered nurse and work at St Francis Hospital for a group of internal medicine physicians. My husband is an alumni director for Oral Roberts University. We are not sure if we can attend the reunion but it sounds like a lot of fun. Hathaway, Bev - Regina - After high school, I attended the University of Manitoba where I earned a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Aquatic Ecology and a Master of Natural Resources Management degree. My career has taken me to the High Arctic Islands, the northern Atlantic Ocean off Greenland, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. For the past decade, I have been employed with the Saskatchewan government as a fisheries biologist in La Ronge, Prince Albert and now Regina. I never married or had children, but I hope to adopt a couple of Labrador Retrievers very soon! My hobbies include quilting, collecting antiques, garage sales and reading a good mystery once in a while.
Auriat, Joy - Winkler - I am an ESL teacher in Winkler, Manitoba. I have a 16 year old daughter. I'm training for the half-marathon. joyauriat@hotmail.com Belinsky, Deb. (Tampa, FL / Toronto, Canada)- After high school I continued to play sports through University/Canada Games (until 1987). I was able to work part time throughout part of that era, working for the Province (MB) in crisis counseling. I then began working full time in the fashion industry for a European design house, moved to Vancouver in 1989 and traveled extensively with the job. In 1994 I happily left that industry, (with a great wardrobe) and started a sports entertainment production company - with a business partner - DCB Productions Inc., (dba The DCB Group, Creative Communications, Events and Production Divisions). In 1995 I moved to the Los Angeles area - lived in Newport Beach, CA., where we produced the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim for the Walt Disney Company. Since that time we have worked producing for professional sport teams throughout North America (NHL, MLB, NFL/CFL and NBA games as well as other leagues). We have also produced many one-off sports and events such as the World Figure Skating Championships, the UCLA John Wooden Classic and NCAA Frozen Four (hockey). As well, Steve Nash hires us to produce his game each year – this year that game will be held in Vancouver. DCB has offices in Irvine, CA, Toronto, and Winnipeg Canada. I have essentially spent the past 10 years living in the United States. Recently, we signed the Toronto Blue Jays/Rogers and Toronto Argonauts, which brings me back into Canada. I split my time between Tampa and Toronto - and of course Winnipeg to visit family and friends. My business partner has built the music and film industry side to our company in Burbank, CA, while I have primarily focused on sport, television and filmmaking. I love what I do and feel very fortunate in saying that. Life for me has been on aircraft, in arenas and stadiums, restaurants the gym and whenever possible – on a boat off Canouan. It is great to read about how everyone is living life! Thank you to Kevin, Michelle, Mark and Brian for the work and persistence it HAS to take to get something like this together. It would be great to attend the reunion. If schedule permits, I will be there and would look forward to seeing everyone! Deb Belinsky e thedcbgroup@aol.com or www.thedcbgroup.com Scott, Joanne - St. Albert AB - I have been reading the bios, and am proud to have been in the grad class of 1981. Most of you have fabulous careers and families. After graduation I enrolled in Architectural Drafting at ACC. I worked for a year and made the move to Edmonton, where I attended NAIT and took Architectural Technology. I got a job with Public Works and Government Services Canada in December of 1985 as a drafts person. Worked my way up into space planning, project management and am now in the Architectural and Resources section. I am an Interior Designer. The design work has been designing those "federal government offices" . Although we do very little design work now, I am a resource and specialize in furniture planning and research and have become proactive in developing workstation ergonomics for our department. Along the way I got married to Kerry Myers (Brandon) and had 2 kids - Devon (girl) age 14 and Logan age 10. Kerry and I split up in 1996. I have been living in St. Albert since 1999. I'm not sure If I will be able to attend the re-union. I will be in Brandon at Easter and possible mid August, for my Mom's 75th birthday. Hey, Dean McKellar.....neighbors on 34th street and neighbors in Edmonton!! Freaky!! My email address is: scotty5@shaw.ca or joanne.scott@pwgsc.gc.ca
Gibb, Wanda, (Now Lennox) Strathclair. I'm married with 4 kids ages 5 15 15 and 16 (1 set of twins) We farm and run a home based business. I also am a dietary aide/cook in a health care facility. McKellar, Dean – Edmonton (Sherwood Park) – HI to all! I must say this whole thing has stirred a bunch of stuff that I wasn’t expecting. It sure is nice to read about the lot of you, your families and your successes, our class always had a certain flavor to it, that we would leave a mark. I would also like to speak to the other side of things….. If there are some out there who read all these bio’s and feel a bit left out…PLEASE DON’T. If we are able to make it back this summer I look forward to seeing you and if nothing else than having some fun in the moment. The ten year was nice but I wish many others would have been able to make it, particularly those in and around Brandon. For those who don’t know … I married Earla Trip (van vierssen trip) in 1990. We have two “round peg” kids that I keep trying to squeeze into those square holes…, Rachel “please stop growing” McKellar – 10yrs - 5ft 4in, and Graham “Gramer” McKellar 8yrs. Both are smart and THANKFULLY healthy. Earla (social worker) is at the Sturgeon Hospital in St Albert - Acute Medicine at this time. I played in the World Masters Games last summer, indoor Volleyball; it was a real neat experience to play alongside former Olympians. Work wise…….Dean McKellar, M.S.W., R.S.W., Member, Clinical Registry –I completed my training at McGill University, Family Therapy Clinic, I started and have continued to build a specialization in working with men/men’s issues and have developed instructional videotapes for practitioners focusing on "Men & Separation/Divorce". I have been with the City of Edmonton since 1990. Along with a colleague I have developed a “Men’s Support Model” inclusive of weekly drop-in support groups, structured weekly sessions, intensive weekend experiences and mentor development. We directly respond to over 250 men each year, provide public/professional education sessions and other stuff. In 1999, I administered an environmental scan of services for men in the City of Edmonton and highlighted the need to broaden the understanding of men’s social/psychological concerns and resulting needs. I have presented on Men’s Service needs at several provincial conferences and most recently filled a key organizational role with "Edmonton's Men's Wellness Forum", which examined the service needs of immigrant men, gay/bi-sexual/transgendered men, street involved men and aboriginal men…..I’m a poor social worker…the work is worthwhile…..somebody please show me the money! As far as activities…I would ask for a sunny Brandon afternoon, able to play a bit of baseball, some beach volleyball (soft sand please, not gravel) and a few Innis & Gunn (favorite beer) Hope we are able to get there. Dean.McKellar@edmonton.ca Goater, Cam - Lethbridge. I was only at Vincent Massey for a short time (Fall, 1981), but it has been great to re-new contacts through this re-union. It is a massive amount of work to pull this off - so hats off to the organizers! We can't make the re-union, but I sure enjoyed reading bios of long-lost friends. I left Brandon in 1984 to spend what I thought would be one year in Europe. Of course things rarely go as planned, and I stayed on the other side of the pond for almost 10 years. I returned to a position at U of Alberta in 1993 and then moved to Lethbridge in 1996. I have remained since, as a Biology Professor at U of L. It was my days in Brandon that kindled my love for the prairies, and it continues to now. I married a prairie girl, Lori, and we have one son, Ben (just 5 months old!), a dog (Chester) and a cat (Syd Vicious). We live on a beautiful piece of land that overlooks the spectacular Oldman River. Clark, Craig - Calgary - Hi everyone. I've been living in Calgary for the last eight years and before that I was in Brandon. In 2001 I received my CGA designation and I am presently working as a controller for a company in Calgary's busy residential construction industry. I was married for thirteen years but for the last two I have been happily living the single life. Looking forward to seeing you all in July.
Nieradka, Rose (now Smith) Brandon - Talk about opening a time capsule Kevin! Great website and thanks to all who organized. Yup, Rick and I are still after 23 yrs happily married with two grown daughters. Tanya our oldest is turning 21(don't know how that happened) and in Winnipeg at college. Tara our youngest is turning 16 this yr. and is at YES Vincent Massey (both girls will have grad. from Massey). She is nothing like "we" were and you know who "we" were? So if anyone needs advice on the teen yrs.. especially girls I am just an email away rosemarysmith_063@hotmail.com Rick is still working at B.U. and I have had several jobs over the yrs. as my health has been up and down. At the time is down sorry to say. I worked at B.U. for five yrs. (saw some of you there). then stayed at home to raise the girls while I had a home daycare. Did that till the girls were old enough to be on their own (are they ever?) Then back to B.U. for a few yrs. then on to TD Canada Trust for four yrs. as a C.S.O. loved my job! Am a ppl person after all! My girls are actually friends with some of your daughters. Which is way cool! Also oh I hate to say it but my oldest had teachers that I had in school. Remember Mrs. Clement, Mr. Wrobleski (oh we were so mean to him), Mrs. Daniels, Mr. Taylor and there were a few others. Going to their parent/teacher interviews was very interesting let me tell you LOL. Tannis McDonald taught my oldest math in Massey. Now that's a blast from the past. Hello to you all and hopefully I will be well enough to attend the reunion. Kevin, was good catching up with you on the telly, thanks again for all you have done and continue to do for this reunion.. oh and thank you Michelle and Brian.. Blair, Lindsay. La Ronge, SK - Hi Everyone: It has been a great many years since I have spoken with many of you. My wife of nine years and I live In La Ronge (400 kms north of Saskatoon) in Saskatchewan. We have just finished building a log house on our acre of lakefront on an island which is connected to the mainland by a floating road in Lac La Ronge Provincial Park. We haul our water in, truck our sewage out, and heat with a wood stove. We have three dogs, a fishing boat, three snowmobiles, and feed a white weasel, squirrels, bluejays, pileated woodpeckers, grossbeaks, and sparrows. My wife is the indian band high school resource teacher, and I have a B.Comm. and MBA. I was managing a non-profit organization whose funding partners, after a longstanding power struggle, eliminated my position. Now, I am enjoying a winter off to groom and develop the local snowmobile trails. I am also a Firefighter with the busiest fire hall in the province (averaging 107 calls per year) and a search coordinator with Civil Air Search And Rescue Association. Not sure if we can make it this summer, but... acreonthelake@gmail.com Brichon, Mark Vancouver - Left BU to Winnipeg to play in some bands. On to Vancouver for the same thing. Still involved in music scene here but hideous mortgage is paid by federal gov job (CRA - yes, I am the tax man.) Married Alice and had a kid Lillian (18mths old) I guess that is how it goes. Great job on the site. Can't honestly say I remember much about Massey after 25 years but it was interesting reading about you all. Little disappointed no one went over the top and did something that would have landed on America's Most Wanted. But I still have time yet. Rodgers,
Dan - Brandon. It's been great to read about everyone and
what's happened in their lives since grad. Twenty-five years! How did that
go by so fast? As you can see from my photo my wife and I are involved in
bodybuilding. It has been a great experience and has kept us young. My last
competition was in 2004 when I competed in the Manitoba Masters. I've been
happily married since 1990 to my lovely wife, Val. No kids, but we have two
cats and many nieces and nephews, a few of which we are very close to. We
are still in Brandon and I work as the Grocery Manager at one of the Sobey's
stores, which I find rewarding *most* days. Val and I love to travel, and
have gone to Mexico each winter since 1999. During the warmer months, you
will find us on a golf course or enjoying an outdoor rock festival. Looking
forward to seeing everyone at the reunion!Robson, Donna - Cooks Hill, New South Wales, Australia. Life since graduation, well it's been a bit of a whirlwind. After graduating high school, I went to ACC for a year then to Red River C C for my second and final year in Computer Technology. I couldn't find a job so I started Engineering the following fall (83) and graduated from Computer Engineering in 86. We moved to Saskatoon in 2000 where Vern works for an engineering consulting firm and I work for our church as the office secretary. We're still working out our summer plans so the reunion is up in the air right now. Thanks to Kevin, Brian, Mark and Michelle for all your hard work! Camrass, Paul - Waterloo. Wow....considering the effort I have put into blocking out my high school days looking the names and photos on this site has been a blast!! I would love to try and get there in July. Admittedly, the whole high school "graduation" thing is a bit hazy. But I am thrilled to be included in the celebrations. Will definately work on that. It's incredible to imagine that we are all old enough to have anything in our lives that happened 25 years ago !! Life has been a great adventure since high school days. Through a rather unpredictable set of circumstances I ended up studying music first at BU, finishing my BMus at Laurier and then a Post Grad Performance Diploma from the Royal Conservatory in Toronto. That all happened in the 80's. Once the 90's rolled in I was faily well entrenched in the music scene in Toronto playing bass for symphonies, jazz groups and musicals all over the place. Did my share of Phantom of the Operas, Show Boats and Miss Saigons as well as a number of seasons at The Stratford and Charlottetown Festivals. It was while playing for a show just outside Toronto that I met my wife Catherine. We've been married for 8 years now and have two glorious girls Hannah,6, and Charlotte, 3. With the onset of family I've looked for a bit more stability in my life. So for the past few years I've been working for American Express managing international technologies projects. Between my family, work, and music life is good. Its been great looking back and I am really looking forward to seeing all you folks again. I'll do my best to get there. Yell at me if you feel like it at : paul.j.camrass@aexp.com Ciao for now !!!!..........pc Simpkin, Sharen (Now McDowall) - Kenora. After graduation went to ACC for a year, then over to BU for two years and finsished my BA and HBSW through Lakehead University. Moved to Kenora, Ontario in 1986 for a job in Social Work. Had no intentions in staying in Kenora but met a Kenora guy. I married Murray in 1988,we have one daughter 14, Stephanie. Got tired of social work and took on a position with the City of Kenora as the Human Reosurces Manager and have been in this position for the past 11 years. Fedorowich, Leona (Now page) Winnipeg. What an amazing website! Thanks to Kevin and rest of the organizing committee for the upcoming reunion. I hope that I can attend. I really enjoyed reading everyone's responses on the web page. As for me, after graduating from BU in 84, I married Don Page. We have lived in Winnipeg ever since. I have worked at the U of M since 1985, five years in medical research and for the past 16 years in the Safety Office. I am a program planner specializing in Radiation Safety. Don and I have two wonderful boys: Zac (13) and Anson (8). Life is great!
Pearson, Patty Morinville, Alberta (Now Coey) Hi Everyone, As some of you might remember I left school for Alberta with Perry Coey from Erickson. Well, it's 25 years later and we have two daughters Danielle 20 & Savannah 18. Both are grown and graduated! We live in a small town just minutes north of Edmonton. I've been a piano teacher for over 20 years and run a studio of approximately 30 students from out of my house
Unfortunately, I'm not able to make the reunion:( I'm also a keyboard player
in a classic rock band & we have shows booked for the same weekend. Have a
great party!! My email is

Hampton,
Mary Jane - Nova Scotia - It certainly is a blast from the past
reading about what everyone had done with themselves! I am living in Nova
Scotia, having done a stint in southern Ontario. My career path has been in
health care - latterly as the Commissioner for Health Reform in NS and then
as a private consultant for the past 8 years (actually, in business with my
sister, Abby...who also lives across the street!). I have written a couple
of children's books, am a newspaper columnist and do a fair bit of stuff for
CBC radio - so keep my hands in a few pots. I hooked up with a family
doctor about 10 years ago and we adopted two beautiful daughters from China
(Tia, age 4 and Chloe, age 3). We also have four dogs, four cats, two
parrots, a cockatoo and a chipmunk who moved in last summer and won't
vacate. I guess that's why we live a bit outside the city! It would be
great to hear from old friends (email makes it such a small world). I'll do
my best to book the visit with the grandparents to coincide with the
reunion. This picture was taken about 6 months ago - one of the few in
which Chloe has remained still long enough for the shutter! (Left,
Mary Jane and daughters)

MacKalski, Barbara Ann - Winnipeg. Hello everyone!!! Here's the update. I am happily single and living in Winnipeg. I became a medical doctor, graduating from U of M medical school in 1988 and specializing in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic, MN. In 1993 I returned to Brandon where I practiced Medicine for 12 years. I am currently "on Sabbatical " doing further training and research in Gastroenterology and will return my Brandon medical practice late in 2006. Anderson, Dale - Roblin. I'm only coming if Hilgers has a party! Yes (OMG) I am a High School Principal. Apparently I received some excellent training from my peers in dealing with mislead youth. I am divorced, and I have two great kids that I see all the time (Brady 12, and Brett 9). I have been in the education business now for 16 years, 9 as an administrator. I worked in southwest Manitoba for 9, Saskatchewan for 5, and I have now resided in Roblin, Manitoba for the last four. I really hope to make it to the reunion, but it will depend on my schedule with my kids. Yes that is correct "Jimmy" Kamann and I live in the same town. Hercina, Brian - Stony Rapids SK. Hi everyone !! Since graduating in 1981, I left to Winnipeg and started working for Stadium Ford and took classes at the UofM. In Feb. of 1982 I joined the RCMP and was posted to Colonsay, Sask. Since then I have spent my entire career, other than a few stints in Ontario in Sask. I've been stationed in Colonsay, Pelican Narrows, Sandy Bay, Smeaton, Humboldt, Lanigan, Deschambault lake , promoted to Corporal to Southend, back to Deschambault Lake and promoted to Sergeant in Stony Rapids and I will be transferring to Prince Albert this July. I am married to my wife Karen and have two girls Michelle and Danika. Both are now graduated from university. I was unable to attend the previous re-union and will make every effort to attend. take care. Brian Fox, Bonnie - Orleans, On. (Now Fox-McIntyre) Hi again, everyone! Seems like just yesterday but I guess life has really gone on -- and we have the scars and laugh lines to prove it now! I am currently married to the same man I've shared the last 20-odd years with. Jim and I have three wonderful (and sometimes not so wonderful!) children. Matthew turned sweet 16 on Valentine's Day this year; Rebecca is a gorgeous young lady of 13 years; Christopher holds down the fort at 9 years of age. Matt is our hockey, Ultimate Frisbee, flute-playing teenager with designs on doing as much as he can without doing any work. Sound familiar?! Rebecca is the antithesis. She is a self-motivated worker who plays indoor and outdoor soccer (seasonal!), enjoys drama, singing, shopping, babysitting, French, and good marks. Christopher is also a soccer player but recently indicated an interest in hockey as well. He's just happy to be here -- meeting people and being a goofball. Daddy (Jim) works as a salesperson for the printing firm known as Lowe Martin. He also keeps his hand in as the main chauffeur of children and a wicked classical guitarist. Me? Well, I was once a media relations officer who worked for the federal government. Then I decided to return to university and got my B.Ed. That means I'm now an elementary school teacher. I love it! I currently teach 28 amazing grade 3 students, run the school choir, sit on the strategic planning team, and take whatever workshops I can to improve my teaching methods. I'm the secondary chauffeur (Jim really does do most of it) in the family. In addition, I sing in a choir, try to get to the gym on occasion, do the stuff a mother has to do and is never finished doing, and enjoy a glass of red wine as often as possible! I can't complain. Life is pretty good!! Wish more of you would consider travelling out this way. Look us up anytime. I'm always listed in the phone book -- longest listing under "Fox" that you'll ever find. E-mail can be dicey because of our server, but persevere: Bonnie_Fox-McIntyre@occdsb.on.ca Hoping to see you this summer but still not sure what direction my kids will take me in!
Gurr, Brad - Bedford Hills, USA - I am living and working in The Hudson Valley. Currently an Arborist in Ossining and Briarcliff Manor NY. The winters are mild and the trees are large. Lori and I play rec mixed volleyball once a week to get a night out and some exercise. Giles, Andrew Montreal. - I will not be able to make it to Brandon, but wish you all the best in the reunion. Cullen, Kevin, Chillawack. Firstly, Thanks to Michelle, Kevin, Brian and others for getting the reunion organized. I've been living in Chilliwack for the past 10 years so I can golf, (albeit poorly) 12 months a year. Married, (Nicole is from MB) with two great kids, Melanie (8) and Joel (5). I have an optometry practice but try to work as little as possible, (guess I haven't changed much since high school). We have a rustic cabin in the BC interior where we spend ski weekends in the winter and swimming/kayaking in the summer. Life's good. We still try to get to MB each summer for August long weekend at Clear lake so I will try to come back a little early this year to attend the reunion. Cheers Kevin Chaudhari, David (Hamish) - Toronto - Wow - reading up on the

Cameron, Ruth (now Radesic) Saskatoon - I am a health information management practictioner (formally known as a Health Record Technician) for the Saskatoon Health Region. I am married with 3 kids, a just turned teenage daughter going on 20 instead of 14 and a pair of high strung 9 year old twin boys. Twenty five years has passed by fast, as we as a family have lived in Winnipeg, Yorkton, Prince Albert twice and Saskatoon twice, where we stayed the last time and never left. It has been crazy and adventureous, but I would not trade any of the last 20 years. We have had our good times and bad as anyone, but that is life for all of us...! I only attended Massey for 1/2 grade 11 and all of 12, so I don't know too many people and most probably don't remember me, but it was a good time while I was there. It will be fun to get together again. Reunions are a blast. My e-mail is angelrad@sasktel.net Would love to hear from anyone anytime. Rutie Rad Johnston, Brad, - Morrisonville NY USA - Carrie and I have been married for 10 years now. We have 2 daughters...Madison is 7 and Delaney is 4. Life is busy and good. After graduating from the U of A in 1987, I worked in engineering around Alberta and BC. My company transferred us to NY 5 years ago, so here we are. I look after a production facility here and one in Missouri. About a year ago I was assigned a facility in Hermosillo Sonora Mexico, so I spend about a week a month in Mexico as well. Mi espagnol es muy mal. I am not sure if I will make the reunion but will really try. Thanks for doing this for us all. Bristol, Kerry - I moved
to England in 1992 to do a Ph.D. at the Courtauld Institute of Art, University
of London and just sort of Elliott, Jeff, Brandon - Worked for the City of Brandon for 26 years and counting (Has it really been that long?!!!). Married for 14 years with one boy 11 years old. I did not graduate but did end up going back to ACC for upgrading. Enjoying life!!! (Photo right: Sue, Jordan, Jeff & Gimli) McInnis, Neil, Winnipeg - Wow, what a blast from the past! Great

Massy! As many of you
Turenne, George - Toronto. I hope I can make it just to hear Kevin laugh! I'm living in Toronto. Married to Kathleen for 9 years. Three kids. Alexandra 22, Jesse 11, Billy 10. After working in Brandon for a few years I went to Sheridan Collage in Brampton, ON. to take technical illustration. I met Kathleen and her daughter about about 12 years ago. When we had Jesse we decided I'd stay home with him. I started a small business doing drawings for patent lawyers which I still am doing. We also try to make a few bucks by renovating dumpy houses and re-selling. It means living in rubble and dust much of the time so we may not do this to much longer. We have a cottage about 3 hours NE so we can get away from the humidity, smog, and stray bullets. Alexandra is in York U. Jesse likes volleyball and video games. Billy likes basketball and football. We also have a cat, a dog and 2 birds. And a station wagon with wood siding. turenne@rogers.com

Skibo, Debbie, (now Kubica) Went to ACC after high school, worked at MPIC for a short time then moved to Saskatoon where I have been ever since. Married for 19 years, 1 son (Jordan) who just turned 13. Looking at all those names on the grad list was certainly a nostalgic trip! My parents and brother (and his family) still live in Brandon so we are there several times a year. Parents have a cabin at Grey Owl by Clear Lake so we try to spend as much time as we can in the summer. Say hi! - dek@sasktel.net Thiessen, Judi. Regina. Great to hear what has happened over the years for everyone. I have been working in the insurance/investment industry for the past 20 years - as office administrator - first half in Brandon; second half in Regina. No husband; no kids. Spend free time travelling and with friends and family. Parents still live in Brandon so get there every so often. Email is jthiessen@sasktel.net Scaletta, Angela (now White) Brandon) Thank you to all those involved in putting together a reunion. I plan to attend and look forward to seeing all of my previous classmates. After high school, I worked as a nurse, married, and had two great boys. I have been at home with my boys and after living in Ontario for five years I have returned to Brandon and live with my boys while returning to school (the job of learning never ends for me). I am now separated from my husband and I'm dating a terrific guy. Hope to see you all in July! Angelina Scaletta

Joynt, Brian, Stonewall MB. - I've been working as a Biologist with Ducks Unlimited's research arm for almost 20 years. Most of my work involves waterfowl research conducted in the Canadian Prairie/Parkland region. I work out of DU's corporate head office (Oak Hammock Marsh) and live just outside of Stonewall (both just north of Wpg). Susan (Young - Neelin grad) and I have 3 kids; Julia (4.5 yrs.) and Shelby & Lucas (twins, 8 mths.) There is a chance we could get to the reunion - we just need to get a vehicle big enough to haul all the kids and their endless 'stuff'. Email me at b_joynt@ducks.ca Hirshfield, Richard, Toronto. still here, work in film production, will be divorced as of Feb. 11/06, no kids
Badgley, Norm - I've been living in Calgary for almost 20 years working for Shell Canada. I married Jennie Adamski (also from Brandon) and we have 1 son, Sam, aged 12. Unfortunately we've booked a trip in July and won't be able to make the reunion. Sorry I won't be able to make it... I hear there's a party at Hilgers'! McEwen, Chuck - Toronto - After an uninspiring year at BU right after high school I worked in Brandon for seven years at the Vic Inn and as a locksmith at C&E. Decided to go back to school and moved to Winnipeg in 89. I graduated from the U of M in 95 with a BA (Theatre and English). Worked at the Gas Station Theatre, Video Pool and then as the Coordinator for the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival until 98. Moved to Toronto in 98 to become the Producer/Executive Director of the Toronto Fringe Theatre Festival and that’s what I’m still doing today. I really wanted to attend the last reunion (couldn’t get out of a production of Twelfth Night) so I am looking forward to seeing everyone this time around. Not married, no kids or pets of any kind. I’ll be in Winnipeg checking out the Fringe before the reunion and if anyone wants to get together for a drink feel free to give me a shout at producer@fringetoronto.com. Brownridge, Debbie (now McLeod) - Brandon - After leaving high school I was a Travel agent for 17 years. Got tired of that and am now a 911 dispatcher for Manitoba. This July My husband and I will celebrate 20 years of marriage. We have 2 children, Brendan 9 years and Kaitlyn 6 years. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion. My email is: d_mcleod_@hotmail.com Benton, Lisa (Now Demond) Brandon - Married to Ken Demond, 2 kids, Kyler 13, Kelsey 10. Working for Service Canada for 16 years now. Currently working on fitness instructor certification. Skinner, Karen, Qatar - Hi folks. Great to read all the bios! I'm an ESL instructor teaching Arab students at the College of the North Atlantic (a Newfie operation) in Doha, Qatar. I arrived in Sept. 2005, so Doha now feels like home. I have been teaching ESL for 5 years--in Portugal, S. Korea, Brandon U. & Singapore. In my 30s, I was a bureaucrat at the Dept. of Indian Affairs in Ottawa, then I had my mid-life crisis early and decided to become an ESL teacher. I was married in my 20s; no kids (just as well). After many years in the dating desert, I am now going out with a wonderful Syrian engineer--who wasn't even born when we graduated. Will try to take him to Canada this summer...if Immigration lets him into the country. Really looking forward to seeing everyone!

Byberg, Julie (Now Stanley) - Dauphin After graduating from high school I attended ACC and completed a one year secretarial program. Married Don Stanley of Brandon on July 4, 1992. We spent several years travelling to the Carribean before the birth of our first daughter, Kelsey, born Dec. 1995. Kaitlyn was born in Apr. 1997, Kyleigh-Aug. 1999, Kamryn-Jan. 2001 and our son Keaton in Nov. 2002--they're all such great kids! I worked in Payroll/Acct for 9 years at the Keystone Arena in Brandon before relocating to Dauphin in 1998 when my husband Don received a transfer with Coca-Cola. In 2001 I took a psych course with U of M and in Jan 2004 went back to school again and received my Applied Counselling with a major in addictions. I am currently employed part-time with Family Services, Metis Child-Family and Community Services, Mr. T's and provide childcare as well. Our family life is very busy from Sept-June between school and all of the activities our children are involved in so we truly enjoy taking it easy for July and August. We recently returned from a wonderful vacation that took us through Montana, Utah, Nevada and Southern California and are hoping to get in as much camping as possible for the remainder of the summer. Life has been good. See you all soon!- kkids@mts.net (Photo right - Julie and Family)
(Photo left - Bill demonstrates what will happen if you don't attend the reunion)
